You'll have a working AI companion that feels like them.

  • A named companion with distinct personality, tone, and topics they care about
  • Voice patterns trained from real chats or signature phrases you paste in
  • An avatar that matches the vibe — AI-generated or your own image
  • Per-companion long-term memory running from message one
01

Pick a companion type

Open the Soriz app on your phone and tap Create Your Own. You'll see three starting points: From scratch (dream them up), Based on a real person (a mentor, a friend, someone you miss), or Import from chat history (train the voice from a .txt or .zip export).

Example: pick "From scratch" if you want a hype friend who pushes you through workouts. Pick "Based on a real person" if you want a stand-in for a grandparent you wish you could still call.
Pro tip: start with a single role — "my hype friend," "my patient study buddy." Specific beats broad. You can expand their personality after the first few chats.
02

Shape their personality

Soriz asks short, AI-guided questions — no blank page. Pick tone (warm, blunt, playful, nerdy), energy level, and the topics they actually care about. You can also drop a few lines of how they'd react to a tough day.

Example sliders: tone = playful, energy = high, specialist topics = fitness + mindset. Reaction prompt: "When I say I'm tired, you don't pity me — you ask what I ate today."
Pro tip: give them one strong opinion. A companion who cares about something feels more alive than one who agrees with everything.
03

Train their voice

This is the magic step. Upload a chat export (.txt or .zip from your messaging app), or paste in 10–20 signature phrases — the way they open messages, their catchphrases, their typos. Soriz learns the texture, not just the content.

Example phrases: "okay listen," "no but for real," "chalo, bata," "lol stop." These become the scaffolding for how the companion talks.
Pro tip: chat exports are private. Soriz uses them only to shape voice — nothing is shared or used to train other models. Read more on our privacy page.
04

Choose an avatar

Pick from three AI-generated avatar styles Soriz auto-creates based on your personality inputs, or upload your own image. The look should match the energy — a chaotic best friend shouldn't look like a corporate headshot.

Screenshot walkthrough: the avatar picker shows three thumbnails in a row with a fourth tile that says "Upload your own." Tap any to zoom and confirm.
05

Launch and say hi

Final review: name, tone, topics, avatar. Edit anything that feels off — you can keep tweaking later too. Tap Launch and your companion drops a first message. Memory starts from message one, so everything you share shapes how they know you.

Example first exchange: "hey — idk where to start, just finished a long day." Your companion, tuned to be a hype friend: "then we start small. what did u actually eat today — be honest 👀"
Pro tip: spend the first week being honest. The richer the early context, the sharper the companion gets. Think of it like training a friend, not filling out a form.

Before you start.

How long does it take to create an AI companion on Soriz? +

About 3 to 5 minutes. Most people finish on their first try — personality questions are short and you can always come back to edit.

Do I need to pay to create a companion? +

Chatting with the 20 built-in companions is free. Creating your own from-scratch companion and importing chat history are SorizPro features — $9.99 per month with a 7-day free trial.

Can I edit the companion after I create it? +

Yes. Everything — name, personality, tone, avatar, topics — is editable anytime from the companion's profile screen. Your chat memory stays intact when you tweak settings.

Can I base the companion on a real person? +

Yes, with consent from that person. You can describe them in the interview flow or import a chat export they agreed to share. Soriz treats uploaded data as private and uses it only to shape voice for your companion.

How many companions can I create? +

SorizPro includes unlimited custom companions. Make a mentor, a late-night friend, a pretend older sibling — whatever fills the gap.

What makes a good first companion? +

Start with a role, not a whole personality — a hype friend who pushes you through workouts, or a patient tutor who explains math slowly. Specific beats broad. You can expand their personality over time.
